About

Emily earned a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Kentucky University in 2012. While working on her master’s degree Emily worked as an SLPA in the schools. She also completed her Clinical Fellowship in a school setting. Emily spent 12 years working at Developmental Pediatrics, a pediatric clinic that specialized in Neurodevelopmental Treatment. At Developmental Pediatrics, Emily worked closely with Physical and Occupational Therapist. During this time, she gained a deeper understanding of the sensory system and gross and fine motor development. Emily recognizes that a child’s sensory system and postural control form the foundation for oral motor function, learning and communication. Emily is trained in PROMPT, the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Her professional interests include language development, articulation development, motor speech disorders, and feeding and swallowing. Emily is a native of Colorado Springs. In her free time Emily enjoys spending time with family, playing with her two children, reading, knitting, crocheting and hiking.
